A dad says he wishes he could “turn back time” after he flew to Turkey to fix his  teeth only to be left with no teeth.

Jon Denton was forced to have his front teeth knocked out to get a breathing tube down his throat after he was involved in a serious motorbike crash in January 2020.

He then had metal put into his jaw for months during his recovery, and the now 34-year-old said he was left struggling to brush his teeth. The dad-of-two says this caused his teeth to crumble but when he reached out to a UK dentist for help he said he couldn’t afford the £30,000 for treatment.

Jon, a delivery driver, claims his teeth then deteriorated further, leaving him with constant toothache and unable to eat food unless he cut it up “like a child”.

He decided to bring out £3,500 in January this year and fly out to Turkey to get a new teeth.

He had 14 implants fitted into his mouth, which he said left him in “excruciating” pain and his bottom teeth fell out when he returned to the UK.

When he flew back to Turkey for a check-up in March 2026, Jon, who was under sedation, claims the dentist then removed all his implants instead of fixing them. He says he’s now unable to even eat soft cake and wishes he could turn back the clocks and not have the procedure done.

Jon, from Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, said: “I remember waking up and there was nothing [no teeth] there. Other than the front one that was a bit sore, all the rest of the teeth were solid. There was no need to remove them all. It was a shock to find they were all removed. [When I got home] for a couple of days I just locked myself away.

“In comparison, I was in a better position before going to Turkey than I am now. It was my partner’s birthday the other day and I tried to eat a bit of cake, which was soft, and I couldn’t. I know some people have gone to Turkey and got absolutely brilliant teeth but it’s not the case for me.

“It’s the worst thing I’ve ever been through, I wish I could turn back time.”

He added: “[Before going to Turkey], I got used to covering my mouth when I talked to people and not smiling. I got lots of quotes from dentists in Turkey and I chose one that was middle ground as I thought it was a safe option. They had good reviews and were one of the few clinics that didn’t pressurise you into booking so they felt genuine.”

After paying the initial cost of his treatment, Jon claims he was made to pay another £800 when he arrived at the Turkey clinic. Claiming everything “felt rushed”, he then spent six hours in the dentist chair having 14 implants screwed into his mouth before returning the next day to have his new teeth glued in.

At first, Jon loved his new smile but things quickly went downhill when he claims he suffered an infection and some of his teeth began to fall out.

Jon said: “When I got there, everything felt rushed. After paying, signing all the paper work and having the scan I was in the chair within the hour.

“When I came back I was really happy but I was always in pain but I just thought it was part of the process. After the painkillers had worn off, it was a nine out of 10-excruciating pain. I would have rather broken my leg again [like I did in 2020].

“The pain was constant and my mouth was throbbing. My temporary bottom teeth fell out, I laughed while sitting on the sofa and they just fell out. Excruciating pain followed, I physically couldn’t brush my teeth as they were so sore, it was becoming unbearable. They told me to fly back out and they’d reattach the teeth.”

After flying back out to Turkey in March this year, Jon claims he paid £300 to be sedated and this is when the dentist removed all the implants as they had allegedly failed. Jon says he was then offered the option of paying to have dentures fitted by the clinic or to get a partial refund of £2,700, which he opted for.

Now, Jon is fundraising to raise the cash needed to fix his smile.

Jon said: “If I don’t sort this out, It’s going to ruin my relationship. I wake up in a foul mood everyday and I don’t want to go to work which is affecting my bills and income. The amount of pain I have gone through, I’ve got to go through it all again.
