A heartwarming video has captured the touching moment Super Falcons defender, Michelle Alozie, gifted her football boots to a young fan in Abeokuta ahead of Nigeria’s clash with the Benin Republic.
The Super Falcons recently secured a strong start in the final round of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, defeating the Benin Republic Amazons 2-0 at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé, Togo. The goals came in the first half, with Chinwendu Ihezuo and Esther Okoronkwo finding the back of the net to give Nigeria a crucial away advantage.
The return leg is set to take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta. With a two-goal cushion, the Falcons only need a draw or even a narrow loss to move on to the next stage of the WAFCON qualifiers. Playing at home with strong fan support puts Nigeria in a favorable position going into the second leg.
Before the match, Alozie made a young supporter’s day when she spoke with the girl’s father and gifted the excited 9-year-old her boots. The touching gesture was followed by photos of the pair, with the little fan proudly holding her newly received boots.
