Nollywood actor Mike Ezuruonye has responded sharply to online criticism that followed a viral video of his interaction with colleague Toyin Abraham at her recent movie premiere.
The original clip, which circulated widely on social media, showed Ezuruonye playfully waving a bundle of cash around Abraham’s head before handing it to her an act some viewers wrongly interpreted as suspicious or inappropriate.
He criticized what he described as unnecessary overanalysis of innocent moments, urging social media users to stop attaching sinister meanings to harmless gestures among colleagues.
To further shut down the speculation, the actor shared a second video in which he and Toyin Abraham humorously recreated the scene with roles reversed. In the clip, Abraham playfully waves her hands around Ezuruonye’s head before the two share a warm embrace, reinforcing the lighthearted nature of their interaction.
In his post, Ezuruonye took a swipe at critics he dubbed “juju analysts,” mocking claims that there was anything mystical or malicious behind the gesture and reaffirming that the exchange was nothing more than friendly support and celebration.
