The coroner’s inquest into late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad’s d3ath continued at the Ikorodu magistrate court today September 11, with both parents of the singer in attendance.
A video shared online shows the father of the deceased, Joseph Aloba, refusing to acknowledge Mohbad’s mum when she greeted him. He however tapped her on the back without looking at her or saying a word to her.
Both parents have hitherto been at loggerheads over the circumstances surrounding the d£ath of their son. While the father suspects foul play from Wunmi, the widow of their son and has demanded a DNA to be carried out on his ‘grandchild,’ the singer’s mum was on Wunmi’s side. However, the relationship between Mohbad’s mum and Wunmi has since fallen apart.
The inquest which began on September 29, 2023, seeks to unravel the cause of Mohbad’s death, as he passed away under mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023. He was buried the following day, but his body was exhumed on September 21 by the police for an autopsy to be carried out at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). The autopsy result showed that “no significant gross finding” could be attributed to the singer’s death.
Mohbad’s family rejected the results and demanded an independent investigation.
Singer, Naira Marley and his associate Sam Larry were noticeably absent in court today despite being served summon as key witnesses.
