“Must You Line Up?”- Isaac Fayose Slams Senators For Lining Up To Welcome Seyi Tinubu

Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has stirred reactions online after openly criticising Senate leaders over their conduct toward President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on December 23, 2025, the entrepreneur and political activist questioned why senators and other top officials reportedly gathered at the airport to receive Seyi Tinubu. He described the act as a clear case of sycophancy and expressed disappointment over what he saw as unnecessary loyalty displays.

Using everyday examples, Isaac explained that sycophancy often pushes people into behaving irrationally. He noted that while poverty might drive individuals to act in certain ways, seeing wealthy and influential people behave similarly is far more disappointing.

Isaac further argued that Nigeria’s constitution does not recognise any position known as the “Office of the President’s Son,” wondering why Senate leaders would stand under the sun waiting to welcome Seyi Tinubu.

Although he made it clear that he has no personal issue with Seyi Tinubu and even praised his philanthropic efforts, Isaac insisted that the lawmakers’ actions were inappropriate. He emphasised that Nigeria is a democracy, not a monarchy like England or Dubai, where leadership or privilege is passed through royal lineage.

In his words, Isaac said:

“We all love Seyi, I even love Seyi more than you. I love the guy more than you because he’s a giver, he’s helping the society. But must you go and line up? You, our leader, Senate leader, inside sun, waiting for President’s son, that does not have office in our constitution.”

He went on to explain that sycophancy can make leaders behave like parents honouring their wealthy children. He also questioned why none of the senators’ children advised their parents against what he described as a ridiculous and distasteful display.

“Sycophancy go make Baba go wake up, go greet him pikin. Because your pikin get money, you go go wake him up. My pikin, how are you? You never see papa wey they use honourifics for their pikin?”
