Nigerian singer Euphemia Ekumah, better known by her stage name GoodGirl LA, has shared some candid details about her struggles with family expectations and her journey to following her passion for music.
The “Early Momo” hitmaker revealed that she has no regrets about not finishing her university education, explaining that she was compelled to write the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exam against her will.
“I’ve never regretted not completing school. My only regret is that I even went to school in the first place. I wish I had left home earlier instead of writing JAMB. My dad forced me to do it, but I should have chased my dreams sooner,” GoodGirl LA said in an interview with Hip TV.
“When I told my parents I didn’t want to go to school anymore, my dad told me to leave the house. Things got really tough, and at one point, he even disowned me. Eventually, I left home,” she added.
The singer noted that her relationship with her family was later restored after she began achieving success in her music career.
