Dr. Popoola, a medical doctor from Jos, Plateau State, has shared a harrowing account of the recent attack on church members in Eruku, Kwara State, revealing that some of his relatives were directly affected.
In his statement, he confirmed that two of his aunts and a cousin were kidnapped during the attack, while his grandmother, seen struggling to escape in footage, was unharmed. He also noted that several people were killed, although their identities have not yet been clarified.
He described the brutality of the assailants and the severe injuries many victims suffered. Dr. Popoola highlighted the pervasive fear in the community and appealed for urgent support from security agencies, while also urging continued prayers and solidarity.
He said:
“My two aunties were kidnapped in this video, the old woman running slowly is my grandma…. Please @HQNigerianArmy @PoliceNG Help !!!!
Update this morning; My grandma seen struggling to run in the video wasn’t taken along with those who were kidnapped, Also it’s my biological aunt and my cousin (my other aunt’s son) who were kidnapped. Some people were killed however details of who isn’t clear yet. The town is in terror.
Please whilst we repost and tag let’s also pray… I know it seems as though we’ve been wasting our time praying, but please let’s not loose hope, regardless God is still on His throne.
If we all join our voices and cry out to him He’ll show up as the Lord of hosts.
I will lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help? My help comes from the Lord.
He is the helper of the helpless, we’re currently helpless, we’ve tried all we can in Nigeria, we’ve striked, protested, all we can do now is keep doing what we’ve been doing and also pray.
I am a Doctor in Plateau state Jos, I know the amount of people that have been treated in our facility as a result of assault by these terrorists,
People living in fear all the days of their lives,
People’s skull hacked like palm trees, people’s hands dangling with only but skin left to hold the limb.
This must end!!!”
