The 2025 edition of the Hallelujah Challenge, a globally recognized online praise and worship event led by Nigerian gospel minister Nathaniel Bassey, has set a new milestone, surpassing one million live viewers during its 15th-day session.
Data from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) revealed that the combined audience across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok peaked at more than 1.2 million during the midnight worship held on Wednesday.
Now in its 15th day, the October session of the Challenge continues to attract believers from various parts of the world, creating a powerful sense of unity among Christians through intense prayer and praise despite distance and time zone differences.
Launched in 2017, the Hallelujah Challenge began as an impromptu Instagram Live session in Nathaniel Bassey’s living room. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the largest virtual Christian gatherings globally, bringing together millions who participate in worship, prayer, and testimonies of divine intervention.
Reflecting on its phenomenal growth, Bassey described the Challenge as a divine project that has far surpassed all human expectations.
“What started as a simple step of obedience to host a midnight praise session has become a global altar of worship,” he said.
“Each time we worship, we witness God’s power move across nations and denominations.”
He further emphasized that the movement’s remarkable success highlights how digital platforms continue to strengthen collective worship and spiritual connection in the modern world.
