Croatia captain, Luka Modric has said that he has decided his future following his team’s 2022/23 UEFA Nations League final defeat against Spain in Rotterdam on Sunday.

Recall that both Croatia and Spain played a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes during the Nations League final at De Kuip.

Despite Croatia’s reputation for powering through extra time and penalties, they came unstuck in the shootout, as Spain sealed their first international trophy since 2012.

Modric converted his shootout spot kick, but his Real Madrid teammate Dani Carvajal scored the winner for Spain, as Croatia were left frustrated.

The 37-year-old veteran midfielder had been tipped to make a call on his international future after the final, regardless of the result.

But the former Tottenham Hotspur player stated at full-time that he would take a bit more time to make an announcement.

“I have decided my future, but I’m not going to say it today”, Modric said per reports from Marca.
