Newcastle will play in this year’s Carabao Cup final after beating Arsenal 2-0 in the second leg of their semi-final clash on Wednesday night.

The Magpies pulled off a sensational 2-0 victory in the first leg of the tie at the Emirates.

Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon scored for Eddie Howe’s men to put them in a commanding position ahead of the return leg at St James Park.

Isak thought he had extended their lead with a vicious finish, but VAR chalked off the goal for offside.

However, Jacob Murphy was not to be denied, as he pounced on Isak’s rebound to open the scoring in the first half.

Although Arsenal tried to fight back and get an equalizer, it was the hosts who got the second goal.

David Raya’s pass out from the back was intercepted and Gordon calmly slotted home.

Newcastle will now face the winner of the Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur semi-final for the trophy.

The second leg of that semi-final will be played on Thursday, with Spurs leading 1-0 from the first leg.
