Ahead of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon on Thursday, Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong has confirmed that the ongoing faceoff between the Super Eagles and the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, has not ended.

Troost-Ekong confirmed that no agreement has been reached between the players and the NFF.

The team is engaging the football administration in a bonus dispute ahead of the game slated for Thursday, November 13.

Troost-Ekong and his colleagues refused to hit the training ground on Tuesday.

The players boycotted training, demanding that the bonuses for previous games be paid to them.

The NFF is said to be owing the team bonuses for years, while the coach, Eric Chelle and his backroom staff are also owed salaries.

Now, ahead of the crucial game against Gabon, the team are demanding that their bonuses are paid or they will stay away from training.

The players said they have received no payment despite a claim by the National Sports Commission that all outstanding payments have been processed.

Football pundit, Oluwashina Okeleji, made a post on X and highlighting the post, Troost-Ekong responded, “Once resolution is found we will be the first to confirm.

“Any other statement/claim or especially demands other than the rightful request written about below is FALSE.

“All we want and continue to do is focus on the big games ahead.”
