Maverick singer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has reacted to Super Eagles’ 2023 Africa Cup of Nations 2-1 defeat to Ivory Coast on Sunday.
Charly Boys said Jose Peseiro’s men tried against Ivory Coast but admitted that the best team won
“The Super Eagles really tried but the best team won,” Charly Boy wrote on X.
“Oya, make we face the demons facing us.”
Recall that Nigeria took the lead in the first half through William Troost-Ekong’s header.
But Ivory Coast levelled after the break through Franck Kessie’s header.
With a few minutes left in the game, Sebastien Haller flicked the ball past goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali to give the host the victory.
