Nigeria Vs Rwanda: What I Saw During Super Eagles Training – Victor Ikpeba

Former Super Eagles striker Victor Ikpeba has revealed what he saw during a training session of Eric Chelle’s men prior to their World Cup qualifying game against Rwanda on Saturday.

Ikpeba said he was at the training session of the team and that what he observed among the players was positive.

During his punditry duties on Super Sports, Ikpeba also said that the line-up introduced by Chelle for the game was perfect, insisting there was nothing wrong with dropping the likes of William Troost-Ekong on the bench.

As at the time of filing this report, the Super Eagles were leading Rwanda 1-0 in the World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

“Before the game I thought Ekong would start as the captain. We don’t know whether that’s technical or not. You know, sometimes as a manager, you have to manage this game.

“I do believe that sometimes it’s so difficult for our boys coming up here to play two games in two days. We are playing today and on Tuesday. Looking at the line-up, no more surprises, is my own opinion. It doesn’t matter who plays. So I think Ekong will play his role as a captain behind the scenes to support the players.

“I spoke with him yesterday, and everybody knows what to do. There must be a lot of talking. The players are, with what I saw in the training session in the last three days, very positive.”
