The National Councilors Forum of Nigeria yesterday said the country will be greater with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the helm of affairs.

At a briefing yesterday, the forum’s Southwest Geo-Zonal Leaders, described Tinubu as a true democrat.

Its Coordinator Kayode Opayemi said,

“We believe this next administration shall truly be a harbinger of Renewed Hope that shall usher unto Nigerians a governing system that works and that shall make Nigerians enjoy holistic prosperity.”

The forum commended President Muhammadu Buhari for letting the Presidential Transition Council to do their jobs in preparing for the inauguration of the new administration.

“We wish him a comfortable and peaceful lifestyle after office. We also believe he will be proud to be a predecessor of our President-elect,” the group stated.

They, however, warned those calling for Interim National Government (ING) to desist forthwith, accusing them of exhibiting penchant for illegality and displaying ignorance about the constitution.

“We bring the attention of Nigerians towards their characters… they have no business in the much needed democratic leadership. ING is an illegality. It is unconstitutional; hence we as legislators in the southwest reject such a request,” they added.

The forum hailed the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof Mahmood Yakubu, for achieving success in the elections.
