A Nigerian mum has gone viral for proudly celebrating her daughter’s first real act of self-defense — a hot slap delivered to a classmate who allegedly keeps injuring her at school.

In a video making rounds online, the visibly excited mother is seen speaking to her daughter, still in school uniform, narrating how the young girl finally took action after several complaints of being bullied and coming home with bruises almost daily.

“Every day, she comes back with one wound or the other,” the mum explained. “I always tell her, anybody that injures you, do them back. Today, I’m a proud mom.”

According to her, her daughter slapped the classmate responsible and the boy went crying to the teacher. But instead of scolding her child, the mum doubled down, asking her to demonstrate the slap — then even went ahead to give her more “training” on how to fold her fist and deliver a proper blow next time.

“If Richard tries you again, you blow Richard,” she said firmly. “You hear me? I’ll buy you popcorn and ice cream. Good job!”

The hilarious — and controversial — video has sparked mixed reactions online. While some hailed the mother for finally encouraging her child to defend herself, others believe she could have handled the situation differently.
