Nigerian fashion and beauty entrepreneur Laura Ikeji has slammed Nigerians over their lack of support for celebrity businesses.
In a video on her Instagram page, she claimed that Nigerians are quick to support celebrities’ music, movies, and lifestyles online, but hesitate to buy from their businesses.

She referenced global figures like Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Kim Kardashian, noting that their businesses receive strong support and backing from their fans.
According to her, the lack of support is why many celebrity brands shut down after a few years. Laura also pointed out that fellow celebrities rarely patronise each other’s businesses, adding that this lack of internal support hinders growth.
The sister of Linda Ikeji added that investors are often reluctant to fund celebrity businesses due to concerns about financial priorities. She ended by encouraging Nigerians to support celebrities they admire by buying from their businesses where possible.
“I am not a celebrity. I sell, we do great at LB.
Think about it. Celebrities should be selling millions in merch. But hey…”.
