Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has expressed outrage after a lady secretly snapped her pictures during a gym session and circulated them online.
Nkechi questioned why people take unauthorised photos of others at the gym, stressing that the act was a violation of privacy.
“So someone cannot go to the gym again in Nigeria without being violated? Many of you will carry your phone and take pictures for what exactly? You wanna mock or body shame the person? Are you not mad?” she wrote.
She further lashed out in a mix of English, Yoruba, and Pidgin, describing the act as unempathetic and unfair.
In a heated rant, Nkechi said the incident would not discourage her from her fitness journey, insisting that the lady had only motivated her to keep going. She, however, warned that she would personally confront the woman if she spotted her at the gym again.
“This is totally wrong not because she is my friend but go get a life. My friend don para, but guess what, they just motivated me to keep going… but make I no see that girl for gym tomorrow sha… dem go comot her for my hand,” she added.
Embracing body confidence
Hours later, the actress shared another post addressing her critics. Nkechi noted that she was proud of her body and unbothered by those mocking her appearance.
“Nkechi trying to stay healthy and fit in the gym is a topic? Lmao with my big belle with pride… Una go dey alright, for real!!!” she wrote.
