Eintracht Frankfurt defender, Nnamdi Collins, is no longer eligible to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

This comes after the German Football Association successfully secured the international future of Collins, beating the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, in the race for the player.

Collins made his senior debut for Germany’s national football team in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Slovakia in Bratislava on Thursday.

The 21-year-old, who was born in Germany, had been eligible to represent Nigeria through his father.

However, Collins’ competitive appearance for Germany against Slovakia, now cap-ties him to the former World Cup champions.

Recall that under FIFA’s regulations, players can switch allegiance only if they have played three or lesser senior matches before turning 21 years of age.

Collins celebrated his 21st birthday on January 10, this year and as a result he is no longer eligible to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
