Bobola Akinfolarin is aware that expectations are high for him to deliver as the head coach of Nigeria National League (NNL) side Sunshine Stars.
Akinfolarin admitted that the Owena Waves deserved to be plying their trade in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Sunshine Stars started their campaign in the second-tier league with a defeat to Edel FC last weekend.
They will be up against Gateway United in a Matchday Two fixture at the Ondo State Sports Complex this weekend.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. The Owena Waves’ fans and supporters are expecting the very best,” Akinfolarin told the club’s media.
“Sunshine Stars are not just another team; they are a storied club that has flown Nigeria’s flag proudly in both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
“Their pedigree is unquestionable, and their rightful place is among the elite teams in Nigerian football,” he added.
