Noah Lyles wrote his name into the history books after he won a fourth successive world 200 metres gold same as Usain Bolt on Friday, September 19, 2025 in 19.52 seconds

At the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Lyles stormed to victory in the men’s 200m final, claiming his fourth consecutive world title in the event. This remarkable feat matches Bolt’s iconic achievement of winning four straight 200m gold medals at the World Championships.

The American who is widely regarded as the current king of sprinting, produced a masterful performance, surging ahead in the final 50 meters to secure the win. This victory not only cements his dominance in the 200m but also underscores his status as the natural heir to Usain Bolt.

Lyles has also silenced his doubters with this victory as one of the greatest sprinters of all time and set the stage for an amazing buildup to the next Olympic Games.

How many times have Noah Lyles won Gold at the World Championships?

Lyles won gold in the 200 meters in Doha 2019, Eugene 2022, Budapest 2023 and Tokyo 2025.

Kenny Bednarek finished in second place in 19.58s, Bryan Levell in third with in 19.64s while Letsile Tebogo finished 4th in 19.65s.
