Akwa United moved to second position on the Nigeria Premier Football League Group A table following a comprehensive 3-1 win against Kwara United in Uyo on Monday.

It was the Promise Keepers’ first win in three league outings.

Taye Muritala put the hosts ahead from a ferocious strike on 19 minutes.

Akwa United continue piling pressure on the visitors and doubled the advantage eight minutes later.

Ubong Friday finished off a brilliant team move to score his side’s third goal of the game.

Samad Kadiri reduced the deficit four minutes after the break.

In another game played on Monday, Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by Dakkada.

Austin Onyemaechi gave Akwa United the lead on 13 minutes.

The home team equalised through Kufre Ebong nine minutes later.
