Heartland Queens head coach, Obi Ogbala, is confident that his players can achieve even more on the pitch despite their winning start to the 2025–26 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL season.

The Imo Queens defeated Ekiti Queens 2–1 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri on Thursday.

Ogbala commended the team for their determination in securing the maximum points from the game.

“We learned from the past, because last season we found it difficult to pick points so we worked towards that. We have to do something different in our season opener,” Ogbala told the media after the game.

“The girls need to be commended for getting the win, I urged them to win irrespective of the opponents. Although, we got the points, and it was the best performance from Heartland Queens.”

Heartland Queens will face former NWFL champions Edo Queens in their next fixture.
