Taiwo Aganmuyi has revealed her reason for dumping former Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, Champions Rivers Angels for newly promoted side Pacesetter Queens.
Aganmuyi said her desire for more playing time pushed her to join the Ibadan-based club.
She expressed her determination to help her new club to a successful maiden campaign in the NWFL.
Aganmuyi won the 2025 Women’s President Federation Cup with Rivers Angels.
“Without sounding immodest, as a football player who believes in her ability, I know what I can do on the pitch. I felt I didn’t have enough playing time at Rivers Angels, so I had to move on and see what the future holds with another team,” Aganmuyi told the Hope.
“It’s not about money. If it were about money, I wouldn’t have left Rivers Angels because they paid me well and their welfare package is top-notch. As humans I need money, but as a professional footballer, what is most important is playing time and that was why I left the Jewels of Rivers.
“I was not dropped by the club. They actually expected me to return for the new season, but I considered everything and realised I was not getting enough minutes on the pitch.”
Aganmuyi won the 2025 Women’s President Federation Cup with Rivers Angels.
