Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has dismissed circulating rumours linking her to singer Obesere as his daughter.
The claim, which gained traction on social media over the weekend, alleged that the actress recently opened up about the supposed relationship after keeping it hidden for years.
Addressing the speculation, Debbie clarified in a video posted on her Instagram page on Monday that she has never met or had any form of contact with Obesere.
Speaking amid the backlash, Debbie said, “It is not funny anymore; the news is everywhere. I have never met Obesere before, and you claim I said he’s my biological father? Don’t I look like my father? Am I not my biological father’s replica?
“Obesere is not my biological father. Please stop spreading fake news! Stop writing or posting things I never said. Some commentators do not even think well enough to know that these things are fake; they start to throw abuses.
“I’ve never said or written this, nor did I cry out as they claimed. Please stop spreading false news. Bloggers should also post this video the same way they were quick to jump on that misconception,” she said.
