Men of the Ogun State Police command have arrested a 23-year-old man identified as Abdulrazak Muftau for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl (name withheld) in the Igbesa area of Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area.
The suspect was said to have committed the crime in June this year but was arrested later after a report was lodged at the Igbesa Police Division,. When interrogated, the suspect told the police that he met the victim sometime ago on Facebook and that they had been ‘’dating” for a while. He said he later invited her over and had carnal knowledge of her.
Confirming the incident to our correspondent on Tuesday, July 19, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said the suspect has since been detained and will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
