Oba Enitan Adeyeye, the Ooni of Ife, and his first son, Prince Tadenikawo, recently trended online after videos surfaced showing a warm interaction between them.
In the clips, the Ooni appeared joyful as he stood with the young prince, who spoke excitedly about his father and even touched some of his traditional ornaments. A particularly touching moment showed the monarch playfully asking his son to say goodbye to his mother, Olori Naomi Silekunola, but the boy insisted he preferred to remain with his father.
Another scene captured the Ooni holding his traditional staff while offering prayers for Prince Tadenikawo. The prince is the monarch’s first son, born to his third wife, Olori Naomi Silekunola.
Meanwhile, the bond displayed in the videos has sparked conversations about the current relationship between the Ooni and his estranged wife. This follows a recent report by Legit.ng revealing that the Oyo State government, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, filed a new suit against Naomi Shilekunola, Hamzat Oriyomi of Agidigbo Radio, and Fasasi Abdullahi of Islamic High School. The charge sheet, dated Sunday, January 12, lists eight counts related to a stampede that reportedly resulted in the deaths of 35 children.
The father-son moment continues to gain attention, with many expressing admiration for the affectionate exchange.
