Nigerian singer Esegine Orezi Allen, popularly known as Orezi, has responded to the viral remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump, who recently threatened to deploy the American army to Nigeria following reports of attacks against Christians.
Trump’s statement has triggered widespread debate online, with several celebrities criticizing religious leaders for their silence despite the continued killings of Christians in the country.
In his caption, Orezi expressed anger over the incident, condemning the lack of justice for Deborah and similar victims. He lamented that Nigerian authorities often fail to value citizens’ lives, describing such negligence as unacceptable.
The singer noted that no family should ever experience the pain and injustice Deborah’s parents endured, stressing that Nigeria has failed many of its people by allowing such atrocities to persist.
It will be recalled that in May 2022, Deborah Samuel, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, was stoned and burned to death by her classmates after she reportedly advised against discussing religion in a WhatsApp group.
