Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen, is set to miss this year’s CAF Awards in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday.
Osimhen has returned to Galatasaray for a scheduled MRI scan on the hamstring injury he picked up during international duty with the Super Eagles.
The 26-year-old failed to appear for the second half of their 2026 World Cup playoff final against the Democratic Republic of Congo last Sunday.
Osimhen, who won the award in 2023, is in the running for the award for the second time in his career.
This year, he is up against Egypt and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, and Achraf Hakimi of PSG and Morocco.
