Pep Guardiola, ahead of the must-win Wednesday Champions League fixture, has shared what he thinks of Victor Osimhen.
Pep Guardiola, in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Champions League fixture, Man City v Galatasaray, has shared what he thinks of Victor Osimhen.
Ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League encounter at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has offered high praise for Galatasaray’s talismanic forward, Victor Osimhen, describing him as an “elite striker.”
Osimhen enters the match in sensational form, having already netted six goals in just five Champions League appearances this season. Beyond his European exploits, the 27-year-old Nigerian international has also been a steady presence in the Turkish league, contributing six goals in 13 matches for the current leaders.
During his pre-match press conference, Guardiola emphasized that his side is facing a high-caliber opponent. While acknowledging the collective strength of the Galatasaray squad, he specifically highlighted the threat posed by Osimhen and his ability to link up with the experienced talent around him.
The City manager noted that Osimhen is supported by a creative and seasoned supporting cast, mentioning the pace of Leroy Sané and the veteran presence of former City captain İlkay Gündoğan and Mario Lemina. Guardiola made it clear that while Manchester City’s objective is a victory, they are fully aware of the “exceptional” quality Galatasaray brings to Manchester.
