The spokesperson of the Ogun state police command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, has said that the police does not require a warrant before they can search anyone in Nigeria. In a post shared on X, Babaseyi stated that the constitution permits the police to carry out a search on a person without a warrant but that a warrant is required when a search is to be conducted in a buildings or premises.
