The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a constable attached to its Taraba State Command for allegedly stealing a goat.

In an official communication from the Commissioner of Police, DFA Jalingo, addressed to the Divisional Police Officer in Mutum Biyu, the officer was identified as PC Usman Mohammed, who was serving under the Mutum Biyu Division.

The dismissal followed thorough disciplinary procedures and was carried out in line with the Police Act and Regulation 370, Cap 389 of the 2010 Laws of the Federation, as amended.

The offence, classified under paragraph ‘E’ of the First Schedule of the Police Act, prompted the immediate termination of Mohammed’s appointment.

Police authorities have ordered that all official items issued to the dismissed officer including his police identification card—be retrieved, and that his salary be stopped. His personnel records will also be updated to reflect the dismissal.

The Nigeria Police Force emphasized its commitment to maintaining discipline and integrity within its ranks, warning that any breach of conduct will be met with strict sanctions.
