The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has initiated an investigation into an alleged unauthorized raid of a hotel in Abuja by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Gwarinpa.

The incident came to light after a complaint was lodged by a concerned individual on social media.

According to the complaint, the DPO, identified as Hamza Galadima, conducted a raid on the hotel, arresting customers and demanding a payment of 500,000 Naira from each detainee. Some of the customers have reportedly already made these payments.

The complainant, who claimed to have been a previous victim of a similar raid by the same DPO, expressed readiness to testify before the Inspector General of Police (IGP) regarding the incident.

Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Command spokesperson, confirmed that the police have taken the allegations seriously and are currently investigating the matter.
