The Osun State Police Command has arrested eleven suspects over alleged armed robbery, conspiracy and theft.

This was made known by Hope Okafor, Deputy Commissioner of Police, during a press briefing in Osogbo on Monday.

According to Okafor, the press briefing was organised to showcase the successes recorded by the Command in recent times.

She revealed that the suspects were arrested in different sting operations.

The suspects arrested include Seyi Ojo, male, 33 years, Kamorudeen Quadri, male, 32 years, Ogbemudia Sunday, male, 48 years, Fatai Toheeb, male, 22 years, David Adebayo, male, 43 years, David Aderemi, male, 30 years, Olalekan Musiliu, male, 35 years and Ayodeji Kehinde, male, 39 years.

She added that exhibits recovered from them include Toyota Corolla salon car, Toyota Highlander, eight bags of dry cocoa beans, one red coloured Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, different types of phones and gold chain.

The Command also revealed that a suspect, Dada Taiwo, was hospitalised after he sustained a gunshot wound during a faceoff with the police.

Okafor also revealed that the suspects have all confessed to the crimes and will be charged to court after the completion of investigations.

The Osun police spokesperson urged members of the public who lost valuables to criminals to come to the headquarters to check if their properties were among those recovered from the suspects.

“The Police Command is using this medium to inform the general public that those whose properties are among the recovered exhibits should come with necessary documents to prove ownership at Police Headquarters, Ring-Road, Osogbo, Osun State,” she said.
