Nigerian controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has been arraigned in Ogun State High Court following his arrest.
Newsunplug reported that the controversial singer was allegedly arrested by his actress babymama, Ashabi. In a clip that made rounds online, Portable was captured trying to escape as a group of people held tightly to him.

In a video that made rounds on the micro-blogging platform, Twitter now known as X, the street singer was captured on a sit with handcuffs as he wept uncontrollably, pretending that his mother was sick.

In an update to his case, the singer was arraigned at a High Court in Onipanu, on charges including assault, felony occasioning harm and resisting arrest.
He was accused of attacking one of his wives, Ashabi and obstructing a female police inspector, Ogungbe Olayemi, in the course of her official duties. He assaulted the officer while she was carrying out her work and also attacked some people at his Odogwu bar on New Year’s Day.

Although his babymama, Ashabi, who arrested him, was absent in court, her siblings were present as witnesses. Portable was emotional, and he broke down in tears during the proceedings.
His counsel applied for bail, but the judge declined to grant it, noting that the assaulted police officer wasn’t in court. The judge stated that he would need to see the officer before ruling on the bail application.
Portable has been remanded in custody until January 19, when his bail application will be considered.
