A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to cry out for justice after her heavily pregnant elder sister passed away following a brutal assault by her husband in Benin.

The tragic incident was shared via a post on X, formerly Twitter. In the video, the grieving woman narrated how her sister was severely beaten by her husband, which ultimately led to her death.

She revealed that upon hearing the news, she rushed to the police station to ensure the man’s arrest.

However, when officers arrived at his location, they were reportedly told to leave, with assurances that the man would turn himself in — a promise he has yet to fulfill.

In the heartbreaking video, the lady pleads for justice, saying: “My sister’s husband beat her to death with pregnancy. They said we can’t do anything. Police we called couldn’t arrest him. Please help me, I want justice for my sister.”

The clip also includes distressing visuals of her late sister—heavily pregnant and visibly injured—while she was still alive after the attack.

The post has since gone viral, prompting an outpouring of sympathy and outrage in the comment section from concerned Nigerians calling for justice.

See some reactions below:

@wyzemaverick: “That man is a devil. How I wish women will notice this red flag 🚩 early and stay away from such men. Marriage is not achievement, many have lost their lives due to it.”

@honest_takes1: “Better to be single mother than this. May her soul rest in peace.”

@ObiNwa41320954: “Which man go de bear woman with belle even if you find out no be your belle why not allow go rather beating her.”

@bad_harbit: “This is so painful … you can hear the pain in her voice and her eyes.. she’s so helpless. I pray that justice is served.”

@HenryKresg46215: “Jesus Christ, as I see the pregnancy cold catch me. What kind of coward? How can we reach her? We go carry police go there.”

@AguborChinedu67: “Your sister saw all the signs before accepting him.”
