PSG’s injury update
Captain Marquinhos will not feature after suffering a quadriceps issue during the Ligue 1 win over Marseille. Manager Luis Enrique confirmed that while the problem is not serious, the Brazilian will be sidelined for a few weeks.
“Marquinhos felt some discomfort late in the match against Marseille,” Enrique explained. “It’s precautionary, but we don’t want to take any unnecessary risks. He’s our leader, so it’s a setback for us.”
In addition, PSG are still without João Neves, who is recovering under close supervision, and winger Ousmane Dembélé, who remains in rehabilitation. Youngster Désiré Doué is also out, though the club offered a boost by confirming he has resumed light running on a controlled treadmill. According to Le Parisien, this progress could allow him to be named on the bench against Barcelona.
On the brighter side, Bradley Barcola and João Neves are both expected to travel with the squad and may feature in domestic action against Auxerre before the Champions League tie.
Barcelona’s injury update ahead of UCL match
Hans Flick’s side also have a growing list of absentees. Goalkeeper Joan García will be unavailable for four to six weeks as he undergoes arthroscopic surgery, meaning he will miss the PSG clash. Midfielder Gavi is still out with a long-term knee problem, while Fermín López is sidelined as well.
The biggest fresh blow for Barça is Raphinha, who, according to Fabrizio Romano, picked up a new injury in training on Thursday and is expected to be out for around three weeks. That rules him out of the trip to Paris.
