Legendary Hollywood star, Vin Diesel, has declared ‘Calm Down’ by Afro-rave sensation, Rema, as his favourite song.
Born Mark Sinclair, the famed ‘Fast and Furious’ star said his young daughter, Pauline is incredibly in love with the song.
When asked on the red carpet about his favourite song, Vin Diesel stated: “I have to say this, my daughter, Pauline who’s eight years old runs around the house going Calm down! Calm down!! Rema.”
Rema’s ‘Calm Down’, a song off his debut studio album Rave & Roses was released on February 11, 2022, through Jonzing World and Mavin as the album’s second single.
The song charted across Europe, reaching number one on the Belgian Ultratop 50, Dutch Top 40 and Dutch Single Top 100.
A remix of the song with American singer Selena Gomez was released on 25 August 2022. The new version reached number one on both the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs and the Billboard Global Excl. US charts, and peaked at number three on the Global 200 chart.
It peaked at number six on the US Billboard Hot 100, marking Rema’s first top-ten hit and Gomez’s ninth.
The previous week, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ remix, featuring American superstar, Selena Gomez peaked at Number 6 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the highest-peaking Nigerian song in the history of the chart.
