Remo Stars goalkeeper Serge Obassa has been named in Benin Republic’s 30-man preliminary squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Obassa has been a regular in the Cheetahs squad since joining Remo Stars at the start of the 2024/25 season.
Saturnin Allagbe and Dandjinou Marcel are the two other goalkeepers included in the squad.
Among the regulars named by head coach Gernot Rohr are captain Steve Mounie, Mohamed Tijani, Verdon Oliver, Djodel Dosou, Junior Olaitan, and Tosin Aiyegun.
Rohr is expected to trim the list to 25 players next week.
The Cheetahs will begin preparations for the competition with a training camp in Ben Slimane, Morocco, starting on Wednesday, 10 December.
They are drawn in Group D alongside two-time champions Senegal, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Botswana.
