Oyo state police command has debunked an alleged invasion of suspected herdsmen in a Community Secondary School in Alaropo Nla in Orire Local Government Area of the state on Thursday, March 30.

It was alleged that suspected herdsmen invaded the school farm with their cattle on Thursday morning, injuring some of the school teachers and students who wanted to prevent their cattle from grazing.

The command’s spokesman, SP Adewale Osifeso who debunked the report, said no one was injured. Osifeso said the herdsmen were peacefully grazing their cattle outside the vicinity of the school when people began to raise a false alarm.

He said that there’s peace in the area and the state is still enjoying the peace witnessed during the recently concluded 2023 General elections.

He added that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Adebowale Williams, ent the Divisional Police Officer in the area to the alleged scene of the incident and he confirmed nothing happened.
