Ronaldo missing as Messi ranked 7th in 10 most famous athletes of all-time [Full List]

Inter Miami captain, Lionel Messi was named as the seventh biggest icon in sporting history by British sports media, GiveMeSport.

Only three football icons made the list in the top 10.

However, two footballers were ranked ahead of the Argentina captain in the rankings.

They are the late Argentina and Brazil icons, Diego Maradona and Pele, respectively.

Messi’s eternal rival Cristiano Ronaldo did not make the top ten list.

Messi is widely considered the greatest player of all time after cementing his legacy as one following his historic FIFA World Cup triumph with the Albiceleste in 2022.

Here are the lists of the biggest icon in sporting history:

1. Maradona – He guided Argentina to the World Cup in 1986.

2. Michael Jordan (Basketball legend)

3. Pele

4. Babe Ruth (baseball legend)

5. Larry Bird (basketball star)

6. Roger Federer (Tennis legend)

7. Lionel Messi

8. Wayne Gretzky (Ice hockey legend),

9. Late Sir Donald Bradman (Australia’s cricketing legend)

10. LeBron James (basketball star)

Meanwhile, the likes of Tom Brady (American football), Usain Bolt (athletics), Serena Williams (tennis),Muhammad Ali (boxing) and Cristiano Ronaldo (football) made the top 15 list.
