Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest-paid footballer in the world in 2023, according to Forbes.

Ronaldo, who plays his club football for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, earned more than Lionel Messi and Neymar in the last year.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is also ranked as the highest-paid athlete of any sport.

The 38-year-old topped the list with expected total earnings of $260 million.

Ronaldo’s deal with Al Nassri is thought to be worth $200m, while his endorsement portfolio is estimated to be worth $60m annually.

His eternal rival, Lionel Messi, is in second place with expected total earnings of $135m.

Brazil forward Neymar completes the top three with $112m in total earnings.
