Liam Rosenior has pushed back strongly against mounting criticism at Chelsea, insisting the club is not in crisis despite a poor run of results and growing pressure from supporters.
The Blues’ recent form has raised concerns, with elimination from the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain followed by a heavy 3-0 defeat to Everton.
The slump has extended to four consecutive losses, exposing defensive weaknesses, with just one clean sheet recorded in their last 15 matches.
Rosenior dismisses criticism
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup quarter-final clash with Port Vale, Rosenior dismissed suggestions that he is underperforming or out of his depth.
“My record in the Premier League since I joined the club, we are fourth in the league,” he said.
There is a noise around the football club that we are in a crisis, that I am out of my depth, that I talk nonsense… I know all of the noise. It doesn’t affect what is inside of here and that is what the players need to know as well.”
The former Strasbourg coach maintains that internal progress is being made, even if recent results suggest otherwise.
Results test Chelsea’s stability
Despite Rosenior’s defence, performances have intensified scrutiny around his tenure. Critics argue Chelsea’s league position does not fully reflect their inconsistency, pointing to similar struggles among rivals such as Liverpool, Manchester United and Aston Villa.
Defensive instability remains a key concern, while selection decisions, including the recent suspension of Enzo Fernández, have added to the external noise surrounding the squad.
Pressure building ahead of cup test
With confidence dipping and fan unrest growing, Chelsea’s upcoming FA Cup fixture now carries added significance.
Anything short of a convincing performance could further intensify pressure on Rosenior.
