Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will stand trial for his alleged involvement in the false accounting saga in Victor Osimhen’s move to the club in 2020.

The figure in Osimhen’s transfer to Napoli from Ligue 1 club, Lille five years ago was alleged to have been inflated, according to Tuttosport.

The Nigeria international’s transfer involved goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis and three Primavera players, Manzi, Palmieri and Liguori

According to prosecutors, the valuations of the three players were artificially inflated to improve Napoli’s financial position.

Also sent to trial are his long-time associate Andrea Chiavelli and the club itself.

The trial is scheduled to begin on 2 December 2026.
