A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has granted bail to seven more persons standing trial on five counts of conspiracy, cultism, and murder of late Ahoada Divisional Police Officer, Bako Angbashim.

The State High Court presided over by Justice Sika Henry-Aprioku had earlier granted 10 million naira bail to the former chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Cassidy Ikegbidi, and Eze Ekpeye Logbo His Royal Majesty Eze Ngozi Anugwo on health ground.

The court had equally granted five million naira bail to Martins Cassidy, Stanley Amos, Ariomudo Ikedidi, Philip Ordu-Good News and Joyce Ekenne.

When the matter resumed today for bail application of some of the accused, the court granted bail to more than seven out of the over 50 suspects remanded in prison, as well as others now at large.

Justice Sika Henry-Aprioku thereafter adjourned to February 16, 2024, to allow the police to conclude their investigation to enable the court to know how many suspects should be facing prosecution.
