Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, has explained why his team defeated Arsenal 1-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.
Slot watched as Liverpool defeated the Gunners at Anfield following a second-half goal from Dominik Szoboszlai.
Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Slot said the Reds defeated Mikel Arteta’s side due to a “magical” moment.
“First half they took the risk of going one-v-one. For us this was hard because they brought all three midfielders so close to the defense,” Slot said.
“In my opinion that is why they had the upper hand in the first half because they pressed us better and on the ball both teams are really comfortable.
“In the second half we pressed really well. In the end we needed a moment of magic to win the game and I’m not standing here saying the tactics had anything to do with winning the game, but good control from both teams over 90 minutes and a moment of magic was needed to win the game.”
The outcome of the match leave Liverpool on top of the Premier League table with 9 points from three games.
