Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has opened up about her personal experience of staying celibate while advancing her career in the film industry.
The Jenifa’s Diary star took to Instagram to share that maintaining celibacy is far more challenging than people often believe. She admitted that there are times when she feels tempted to engage in intimacy but chooses to stay true to her vow of purity because of her devotion to God.
Juliana revealed that her commitment to celibacy also influences her career decisions. She carefully evaluates every script she receives, particularly those involving romantic or intimate scenes, ensuring they align with her beliefs and values.
She added that her faith continues to guide her, even amid the pressures of the entertainment industry and her personal struggles. Despite living in a world full of moral challenges, Juliana said her love for God gives her the strength to remain steadfast in her principles.
She wrote: “Sometimes I just want s*x, I want to get laid. when people talk to me about s*x purity etc. I wonder if they think I don’t have blood flowing in my veins. It’s not that I don’t want to be touched, it’s not that I don’t want to have all these feelings/desires. It’s not that I don’t cuddle, it not that I don’t want to be kited, it’s would say to me. Not that I don’t want to have a “hot s*x” like some.
“It’s just that more than anything I love and honor God!. And I hate to hurt Him. Everyday I have to make a choice, apart from my relationship with the opposite s*x and sometimes same s*x. Because sadly, we live in a world full of perverts. I have to make a choice in my career as well! Should I take the role or should I not take it?.”
