Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard has named Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham as England’s best two midfielders at the moment.

Gerrard said that Rice would pose a challenging matchup as he also expressed his desire to go head-to-head with Bellingham.

“I think Declan Rice is a really, really good midfielder. I like an awful lot about him,” Gerrard said in an interview with Rio Ferdinand.

” I think he is gone to the next level at Arsenal, he is adding different things to his game, I think he would be a really tough, strong opponent, a good challenge.

“Jude Bellingham, if he were in the Premier League, I would love to go toe-to-toe with him. I think that would be interesting.

“They [Rice and Bellingham] are the two best at the moment, I would say, from an English point of view.”

Rice joined Arsenal from West Ham United, and Bellingham joined Real Madrid from Dortmund.

The duo has been impressive for their respective clubs so far.
