The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to face their North African counterparts, Egypt, in a friendly game ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Both teams will use the game as preparation for their quest to conquer Africa when the powerhouses in Africa converge in Morocco later in the year. Both teams are yet to confirm the date for the mouth-watering clash despite being a friendly game.

The last time Nigeria and Egypt faced each other was at the delayed 2021 AFCON, which was hosted by Cameroon in 2022, with Nigeria winning the game 1-0 in a group stage match courtesy of a super strike by Kelechi Iheanacho.

When will the Super Eagles open camp for AFCON 2025?

The Super Eagles will open the training camp for the AFCON on December 10.

Who are the teams in the Super Eagles group for AFCON 2025?

They are in the first round group that includes Tunisia and East African giants Tanzania and Uganda.

Who is hosting AFCON 2025?

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, also referred to as AFCON 2025, will be the 35th edition of the biennial Africa Cup of Nations tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). It will be the second edition hosted by Morocco, after 1988.

Nigerians will hope that the Super Eagles can go a step further in this competition after losing to the host nation Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the last edition.
