A farmer identified as Goodluck Dimkpa was brutally m8rdered by suspected herdsmen on his farmland in the Ueken community, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Rivers journalist, Allwell Ene, who confirmed the incident, said the herdsmen also attacked another farmer and abducted a woman from her farm at Egbalor, in Eleme LGA.
“Good Luck Dimkpa is his name. He was said to have been brutally m8rdered by suspected herdsmen at his farm in Ueken Community Tai LGA, Ogoni, Rivers State. The second young man in the photo was also attacked by herders in his farm at Egbalor. It was also gathered that another woman was also kidnapped from her farm while another couple escaped from their web all at Egbalor farm road Ebubu Eleme LGA,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, the grieving family are calling on the Rivers State Government to urgently intervene and ensure justice is served.
“We are in deep pain. My brother was brutally k!lled on his own farm. We need the government to help us hold those responsible accountable,” a family member stated.
The community is also appealing for increased security and protection of farmers in the area, citing growing fears over safety in rural parts of the state.
