Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed a businessman and the National Treasurer of Eggon Community Development Association (ECDA) in Nasarawa State, Chief Godwin Bala Ewuga.

According to multiple sources, Ewuga was shot dead on Sunday night, May 26, 2024, in Ubbe, Akun Development Area of the state.

The deceased who owns the popular Comfort Zone Motel, Ubbe was said to have been killed for resisting abduction.

A statement issued by a family source, Jacob Ezekiel, said his corpse was found on Monday morning in a farm close to his hotel.

The spokesman of ECDA, Alhaji Umar Galleh, who confirmed the unfortunate incident on Monday, said that the matter has since been reported to the Nigerian police for appropriate action.

Reacting to the incident, Mr Mandy David Abuluya, the President of ECDA, stated that he was deeply shocked upon receiving news of Mr. Ewuga’s death.

“We are actively collaborating with the relevant authorities to uncover the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise. Our prayers are with the law enforcement agencies in the hope that those responsible will be swiftly apprehended and brought to justice,” he said
